Yoichi Karasuma has spent his whole life in the mountains, honing his swordsmanship skills in the Soaring Wind, Divine Wind style. At the age of 17, he is able to learn the method with the help of his father. Yoichi is transferred to a new dojo in the city so he can continue his training and obtain a better knowledge of modern life. Yoichi, on the other hand, has no idea how to act or speak to anyone in the modern world and instead acts like a samurai, replete with strange vocabulary and medieval garb. Yoichi, who has no idea how to communicate with others, is continuously hurtled in humorous misunderstandings as he moves in with the Ikaruga sisters at the dojo.
