Ichigo Kurosaki, a replacement Soul Reaper, momentarily forgets Rukia Kuchiki after a mystery duo attacks her and erases her memories while she is in Seireitei, until he is reminded of her by Kon, an Underpod Mod-Soul. Confounded, he seeks out Kisuke Urahara, the proprietor of his town's sweets shop, who unlocks the road to Seireitei for them. Ichigo is then astounded to see that his Seireitei, the Shinigami of the Soul Society, had forgotten about him. Kimi no Na wo Yobu follows Ichigo and Kon as they struggle against their old comrades while hunting for Rukia and identifying her perpetrators before they strike again.
