In an ancient mythological world, spirit-like entities monitor the natural order of the mortal planet. One of them, a young girl named Chun, has recently reached the age of maturity and must complete her rite of passage by seeing the human world for herself. During her stay, she becomes entangled in a fishing net during a storm and is rescued by a human child. However, the youngster drowns during the encounter, and Chun returns to her world filled with remorse. Following that, she meets the Soul Keeper and chooses to resurrect the kid in return for a portion of her life. She has no idea that interfering with the natural order of the planet has serious implications.
