Fleeing the repercussions of his action at Hell's Gate, superpowered Contractor Hei and his companion Yin seek sanctuary at a modest inn, disguised as a married couple to avoid suspicion. Hei befriends the inn's other guests in an attempt to heal from previous occurrences. He learns that one of them is a fellow Contractor assigned with assassinating him. Their subsequent encounter is disastrous for both Hei and Yin, who are forced to battle for their lives while dealing with the emotional scars incurred in their prior existence together.
