Akari Taiyou is an apprentice fortune teller who lives with her aunt, uncle, and Fuyuna, their daughter. After losing her mother at an early age, Akari is left with just a deck of tarot cards and a desire to follow in her mother's footsteps as a fortune teller. Akari had a dream one night about being assaulted by a plant monster and seeing a stronger version of herself overcome it. When she wakes up, she realizes, to to her dismay, that the creature was Fuyuna. But, for whatever reason, Akari and her family eventually forget about Fuyuna. She is saved by three magical girls after another near encounter with a similar monster: Ginka Shirokane, Seira Hoshikawa, and Luna Tsukuyomi. They describe where they're from.
