Two years have passed since the Tendoshuu took over the O-Edo Central Terminal. The Yorozuya have since gone their own ways. Gintoki Sakata, anticipating Utsuro's return, begins probing Earth's ley lines for indications of the other man's Altana. Gintoki returns to Edo after a run-in with the remains of the Tendoshuu, who are still on the hunt for immortality. Later, the reformed Shinsengumi and Yorozuya launch an assault on the seized Central Terminal. With the Altana collected by the wreckage of the Tendoshuu's ship in risk of exploding, the Yorozuya and their friends fight their adversaries while Edo's—and the rest of the world's—safety hangs in the balance. Shouyou Yoshida's previous pupils reunite and relive their pasts in order to fulfill their teacher's wishes.
