Three years ago, the Disas, a violent species of interdimensional aliens, arrived and destroyed all they could reach on Earth. With normal weaponry proven ineffective, humanity's last hope of survival rested on humans who transformed into magical girls after making an alliance with the Spirit Realm, which had accompanied the Disas to Earth. After a bloody battle, the magical girls triumph, and the survivors are known as the "Magical Five." The Magical Five disbands after the conflict with the Disas. Kurumi Mugen, Mia Cyrus, Tamara Volkova, and Lau Peipei continue their military career on their own, while their leader, Asuka Ootorii, retires and enrolls in high school. However, Asuka's calm is short-lived, since there appear to be survivors on the enemy's side.
