Second Lieutenant Kei Agemaki, the son of a legendary general, has spent his whole life concealing his intense dread of paranormal creatures. However, when he and two others are moved to the Ministry of Spirit Affairs to live and work with youkai, he is confronted with his biggest dread. With the assistance of the fox spirit Kushimatsu, he and his other policemen must now learn to collaborate with youkai maidens—Zakuro, Susukihotaru, Hoozuki, and Bonbori—to investigate paranormal cases.
