Saki Miyanaga, a first-year high school student, despises mahjong because of her childhood experiences. When she does play the game, she keeps a low profile to avoid drawing attention to herself. Her buddy Kyoutarou Suga takes her to the school's mahjong club one day. She meets Nodoka Haramura, the previous year's national middle school mahjong champion, and Yuuki Kataoka, a fellow club member, there.
