Kensei Maeshima, a child figure skating prodigy, unexpectedly quits the sport because his one-sided adversary, Reo Shinozaki, refuses to recognize his talent. Kensei now attends Inodai High School and uses his athletic abilities to help the other sports teams, but he never officially joins one. One day, Reo announces his transition from solo figure skating to team-based skate-leading and joins St. Clavis Gakuin High School, the Grand Prix winners from the previous year. Hayato Sasugai, a student with an enigmatic link to Reo, persuades Kensei to turn to skating in order to ultimately overcome his opponent in a competition.
