Academy City is at the cutting edge of scientific and technological advancement, and is best known for the discovery of espers, or people with superhuman talents who can change the rules of reality. The Level 5s are the most potent, and the one known as Accelerator reigns supreme even after suffering a catastrophic brain injury.
