Shaoran and Sakura are directed around the Birdcage Land by Mokona-and-Modoki, who were lent to them by Yuuko, the Dimension Witch. This world was meant to be a pleasant place where people coexisted with birds. But now the king is persecuting his subjects: those who do not follow him have their birds taken away, and the people have become destitute. The monarch wields the power of a mystical feather to govern the nation. Is this another of Sakura's recollections? Shaoran and Sakura, together with Mokona, are separated from Kurogane and Fay and land in a dense forest. A little child called Koruri attacks them, mistaking them for the king's soldiers. He says that he is defending Princess Tomoyo from her uncle, the king, who is trying to kill her.
